publications

In addition to writing curriculum and activities, I also have written some handbooks and articles for publication in newsletters. Here are some examples.

How to Grow a School Forest

Wisconsin Forest Resources Education Alliance funded the development of this handbook for Wisconsin Educators. I authored the original document archived here (How to Grow a School Forest). One of the problems with being a contract writer is that often authorship gets co-opted. You can check out the latest edition of my work at the Wisconsin School Forests' website.

The Earth's Strength is in Diversity

Turtles have always facinated me. This essay was written to complement a logo that I designed for the Midwest Environmental Education Conference.

No Grown-up Left Inside

There has been a lot of talk about getting children outside. It seems to me that we first need to get the grown-ups to go back out there. This article was published in the Friends of Havenwoods newsletter.

Deer Talk

Even though the producers of this Field Guide to Whitetail Communication failed to credit me, this booklet is taken word for word from a booklet that I wrote for the World of the Whitetail program.
